Score of the day is the Simply Hidden Breastfeeding Shawl!

"Forget the receiving blanket! now you can feed your baby privately and not worry about your baby exposing you to the world!! Boning material at the top lets you watch your baby while they nurse but still maintains privacy. Comes in endless amounts of patterns and 2 different strap styles, D rings or Velcro snaps."

Have you ever struggled to hide yourself while trying to feed your precious little? The poor babe is practically getting suffocated while enduring a heat rash all so you can stay modest! No more! The fabulous Meghan, from Divinely Domesticated, makes these adorable breastfeeding shawls that cover you and allow your child to breath (all the while keeping an eye on them to make sure things are workin' out in there!). She custom makes them to fit your style, needs, baby gender etc. and she has one for you! Click here to read a little bit more about Meghan and how she stumbled into this business.

Little facto for ya - if you were to buy this shawl in the stores, it would cost you around $50. Meghan sells them for only $25!!!! Hello perfect!

To be entered to win, leave a comment telling me a funny nursing story about you or someone you know!

too cute!!
I definately won't be needing one of these (LOL) but could always give it as a gift or to one of the local crisis preganancy centers.

I don't know if this is what you would call funny, but it sure points out the need for one of these shawls! While on vacation in Hawaii, my husband started chatting with a local in the seat next to us on an airplane about places we should see, etc. She chatted right back, while nursing her baby, with NO blanket or ANYTHING covering herself. I was wondering WHAT ON EARTH my husband was doing continuing to talk to this woman while she sat there with her breast hanging out, but he seemed oblivious. When we deboarded and I asked him this, he said he hadn't even realized what she was doing, as he hadn't looked down. We saw her again at the baggage claim, and the shade of red on his face was a sight to behold. I have to say, I know some women feel fine hangin out there, but even after two babies the one I have on the way is going to be covered up at feeding time!

I am a grandmother to nine, but still remember when I was nursing my first child at my parent's house. Their neighbour lady (whom I had never met before) came over and immediately said I was doing it all wrong. She grabbed my breast with one hand, then proceeded to tell me how to get my little one to latch on properly. Oh how wonderful this little nursing cape would have been that day! I was so humiliated and embarrassed that she had the nerve to grab my breast like she did!

Ha--I'm currently breastfeeding and this would help me out so much!! The other week we went to the park and as I'm trying to feed the baby there is a big gust of wind and my receiving blanket goes flying across the park...meanwhile I'm fussing at my husband and turning 10 different shades of red as he is running around trying to pick it up. He eventually got it but I don't know how many people saw my super-soakers in the process lol.

Okay, since I'm not the only one with an embarassing moment I suppose I'll share :)
With my first baby I was easily flustered when things wouldn't go smoothly as I was adjusting nursing bra, nursing pad, baby, blanket, etc. So as I was finishing up, I got up from where I was sitting, started walking away and as I looked back there was my nursing pad on the floor for everyone to see. Of course I couldn't just leave it there for someone else to pick up, so I had to go back and in front of everyone pick up my nursing pad from off the floor.
Ahhhh, the joys of breastfeeding!

This would be so useful for my in a couple weeks! I'll be flying to Florida from Northern Ireland with my 5 month old and am stressing about how nursing is going to go on the long trip.
I don't really have a funny story. But last week in church i went to the cry room with my baby but couldn't nurse him because apparently it was dad's day to take the kids to the cry room! There were 3 other parents in there and they were all dads so there was no way i was nursing with them there!

Well, I've breastfed for years, but don't have any funny/embarrassing stories. I do, however, have a friend that has one. She was carrying her baby in a sling and bfing. A guy friend, who hadn't seen the baby yet, walked up and said "oh is this the baby?" and pulled back the sling. Boy, was his face red. She just thought it was funny.

That's so pretty! I have never been able to nurse in public, as I'm not coordinated enough to stay covered up with a blanket. LOL!

Some thing like that would certainly help!

I don´t need one! sure do miss those days though in a way. But I know a few who are nursing now and would be a great gift!
When my second son was born we quickly realized he was a homebody. He did not nurse well in public. Nor did he like to leave the house! Bad combination. Our first excursion to the mall he was a maybe a couple of weeks old and I was struggling to get him to nurse with a blanket over him. He repetedly pulled it off. I was like "crazy kid! You´re the baby I´m Mommy. You don´t know the difference." Here I sat at Burger King totally exposed nursing my baby. Whatever I thought! We´re in Europe! I Had to just turn a bit. Praise the Lord for big shirts. LOL

I am 7 wks pregnant w/ long-awaited baby #3. I am hopeful I will be a much less stressed out nursing mom this time! With #1, I was SO self-conscious - and I would NEVER nurse w/ just a blanket or cover up. I ended up nursing my son in some bizarre places - like while sitting in a stall at the Olive Garden bathroom OR in my hot, hot van while the rest of my friends/family ate in a nice restaurant or browsed in a store. WEll, not this time!! :) especially if I had a super cover up like the one you have shown us. It's terrific!!

YES!! I had a similar exp. to "mom 2 4"; i got up from nursing and dropped my nursing pad off my lap onto the floor...my FATHER in law picked it up and handed it to me! I think I wet my pants and not from the normal incontinence!!

My sister, expecting her 2nd!! set of twins would LOVE this nursing cape! Pick me, pick me!!

I have nursed two but don't have that funny of a story but my husband came home from work one day mortified. He was a realtor then and had a small little office and the family he was working with had a baby. The mom just opened up and fed without trying to be discreet, she left it ALL exposed to everyone. My husband said he felt trapped since he was furthest in the room and they were right by the door. He had to talk over the contract and have them sign paper work. He said he just turned and looked at the computer screen the whole time. He was too funny when he came home that day to tell me, but this was before our kids so I can just imagine him freaking out. Poor guy.

okay, so not necessarily hilarious, but definitely challenging and good enough to note:
my parents took us on a Mediterranean cruise (I know!!) when our baby was 12 weeks old. I was still trying to get the hang of nursing. But I ended up nursing the kid on buses, sitting on the seashore, while eating at restaurants, and even while walking around the Acropolis in Athens. Woo hoo! I still can't believe my husband put up with me doing all that. ;)

I was so excited to nurse babies! I read every book about it and would wait for signs my milk was coming even before the baby came. Much to my disapointment, my milk NEVER came and after a lactation consultant and the like--I had to go to formula:( The same thing happened again when my second baby came 12 months later. But, 5 weeks after the birth, at a huge family gathering, I looked down and my shirt was soaked! Soaked! I had gotten milk--very late, but there it was, on my shirt. It ended up not to be enough and the baby had been on the bottle for too long--but in hopes for next time--I still keep all the breastfeeding stuff I gathered as a first time preggo! I will try again, and every time!! Maybe this time the milk will come!!

When we went to Israel last year, my son was 9 months old, and I was nursing him. I was usually able to find somewhere to nurse him when we needed to, but there were a few times that we would not be in the most convenient locations. The first time we said something to our Guide about needing to find somewhere to nurse, he got very uncomfortable. I quickly explained to him that I would have a cover on me - and he was very glad! I'm sure it is not very acceptible to nurse out in the open in Israel!

Love the nursing sling! Definitely would come in handy. I usually do it under a large receiving blanket, but there is always the possibility of exposure.

My daughter when she was about 5 months old made this terrible smacking/slurping sound while she nursed. So even if I was able to stay covered up (if she wasn't flinging her arms around), there would be these awful noises coming from underneath the blanket.

Seeing people's faces while I nursed was almost priceless. As if I had a monster under there or something!

My 5 month old son is slightly more discreet, but definitely getting less tolerant of being under a blanket, so something like this would help keep me covered up!

Right after I had my first son I and the baby went to visit my husband at work. Since it was time to feed him and my husband was busy doing something else I went in to his office, sat at his desk covered myself in all directions with at least 2 blankets and proceeded to nurse my son. About half way through my husband's co-worker came in to ask him a question and when he saw me there he politely asked about the baby and we chatted for a few moments until a look of horror crossed his face, he turned bright red and abruptly left the room. I guess he didn't realize what I was doing. The funny thing is this man is an artist and frequently deals with "life models" ( a.k.a. nude men or women) Go figure. (BTW I am nursing right now as I type this - is that bad?)

I don't really have a funny stories, but lots of memories. I remember nursing in public at a park visiting my dh's family. And my then 9 month old had to eat. So I used a blanket kinda like I would be rocking him to sleep so it wasn't completely covering my shoulder. My grandmother-in-law sat down beside me and asked if he as sleeping yet! I told her no, that he was nursing! She was completely surprised! lol! I was amazed I was able to pull it off without anybody knowing what we were doing!

I don't have a need for this right now but I know several other new mommies to be that would love it!

Oh no... a funny bfeeding story? You mean the ones we try to forget?

Honestly, I cover up in public so as to not embarrass anyone else, but I have no problem nursing "out loud" I guess. :) Or anywhere.

I have always been discreet. The funniest nursing times I have had is when I had to stop someone from trying to "have a look at the little dear" because "She's eating". Sweet smile, embarrassed inquirer. End of story.
It has happened a LOT!

Gotta LOVE Suzanne's story. I LOL. Poor dear hubby of hers. Cracks me up.
Poor Janet. Oh. my. goodness. Get your hands off-a me! That is unbelievable!

No one can tell when I nurse, even without a blankie, but, this would still be awesome.
Thanks for the chance to win!

blessings dear~

I've had Baby #1 and #2 both expose me in front of the mailman, which was embarrassing. And once I skipped a night feeding since the baby slept, only to wake up with a puddle of milk on each side of me -- guess when I shifted onto my sides at night it was enough to, um, milk myself...

I'd love this coverup for baby #3, due in September...

Oh, I love this. We have 6 kids, number 7 on the way, and a passenger van that used to be a work vehicle. The windows are untinted, and since 3 of our kids are adopted internationally we have a colorful family. One day, my husband ran into Lowe's and left the van parked out front with me in the driver's seat...you know so he didn't have to get a parking space...well about that time the baby decided she was hungry, so I just went ahead and nursed her while every contractor that walked past stared at us. It must have been quite a sight.

Love your blog BTW. :)

I am 14 weeks pregnant and would love one of these cute cover ups!
I have nursed 2 babies (2 years apart) already. I don't really have any super funny stories but I think anyone who has nursed a baby has chuckled when the baby accidentally gets a squirt in the face! Opps! Sorry little one!
We won't tell the next person that kisses your cute little cheek!

So my funny nursing story didn't actually happen while I was nursing, but it was because I was nursing...

I had been running a gazillion errands one afternoon and pushed my kids to the absolute limit with a final stop at the grocery store. We were nearing the checkout and the baby was losing it. Like really losing it! I was breaking a sweat trying to console her, get my items out of the cart, and keep the other three from causing utter chaos while my attention was turned from them and onto getting out of the store asap.

I finally stuck my pinky in her little mouth hoping to fake her out for a few more minutes while the checker totalled us out and I paid my bill. She wasn't fooled and neither was her four year old brother. He loudly exclaimed for everyone around us to hear, "Mommy, she doesn't want your finger, she wants your booby!"

Our fifth teeny weenie is now 8 months and refusing solid foods, bottles, sippy cups, and anything else besides my you-know-what. We could really use that beautiful breastfeeding shawl because I think she might be attached until she's in kindergarten!

Have a great rest of your weekend, sweet friend. Big blessings to you!

I totally have a sling made with the fabric in the photo.
Hmm a funny nursing story. Well over Easter weekend I was visiting with my Grandpa and he just couldn't figure out why I hadn't given my baby a bottle since we had been there. Try explaining to an old man that you let your child suck milk from your nipples. Very awkward :)

Kiddo wouldn't nurse (I should have known then he was going to be strong-willed!) so I don't have a nursing story. Pumping, maybe...

But I do have several friends who have either just had babies or are about to have a baby, so enter me!

I don't really have any funny stories about breastfeeding. Although, I will be hopefully nursing again and for even longer this time with my third child due this summer. A friend just told me a funny thing that a new second time moms first child said though. He is five and said, "Jack gets his dinner from mommies bra." I thought that was so cute. My email is jennalizdavisatgmaildotcom.

I have a two year old little boy who loves rhythm and loves to march and dance. If he's ever in the room when I'm pumping, he's drawn to the rhythm of the pump and starts dancing. That's when a nursing drape comes in real handy...when those inquiring little eyes run over to see what's making that funny noise!
