Learning To Lose Myself (And Some Linky Love!)

My long-suffering husband said to me yesterday: "You need to find yourself."

I replied: "No, I need to lose myself."

After yesterday's post I have decided to really take a look at what it truly means to lose myself. I don't want to escape my life, I want to embrace it and be joyful. I want the hard stuff to push me and stretch me towards being more like Jesus. I want my children to see the value in persevering in grace, love, patience, and forgiveness. I want them to see a woman who wouldn't trade staying home with them for the world, not because she has to to fill some role, but because it is a blessing to do so. A smile on my face sometimes fades in the midst of it all, but I don't want the smile in my heart to ever fade.

More to come on this topic next week.

Now for some link love!

I'm sure the post-partum hormones are also making you feel a little crazy...they usually get me now and then as well. But you have such strong faith, and such a refreshing perspective, that with some prayer/quality time with the Lord, you'll be right back on top of the baby-loving world! :)

You're thinking and pondering, (and probably not getting much sleep). We have all been there. Having chickens, I chuckled yesterday at your post...they peck, and peck hard. :)

You know when you're stressed, a good laugh always helps. Remember it's Friday Funnies over at my place today. Not that what I posted was too funny today but others had some lol.
I am lovin' your heart my friend.
Happy Friday to you.

I just found your blog a couple of days ago. I'm appreciating your Godly introspection, and the underlying thought of this post. I'll be reading... thank you...

I feel like I can relate right now. Yesterday I had a total breakdown, leaving my poor husband a little befuddled. We found out Tuesday that we are finally going to be parents. We have been trying to adopt for 3 years, and this Tuesday got the green light. Everything should be easy from here on out, right? All of the sudden I feel completely incompetent, I can't sleep, and I need help. I can't say that I understand why I crumbled under something that should be joyful, but right now I'm just trying not to beat myself up over it.

Thanks for the link love.

Hang in there. Some days are just hard, especially when the kids are little.

What a great concept, to "lose yourself". To give over to God's plan for your life and content yourself with doing what He wants for you, and to do so with a cheerful heart. I think giving ourselves over that way will bless us in ways we can't even imagine. Because our God is very good. :)

What a beautiful post. I read your post and loved it so much I wanted to focus you and share linky love today. But I call it Share and Tell...then I came by today to check on you and this post was wonderful. I haven't checked your linky love but I know I'll enjoy them. Hopefully some of my friends will come over and see you. Have a Blessed weekend. I am glad I found you.
Blessings

Thanks so much for including the link to dessert memories. Aren't you sad that you missed high school in the 80's - LOL?

*hugs* Thanks for the linky love, and losing yourself sometimes is a good thing... even if only because when you rediscover yourself, you're far better off than you were before!
