"The pages are still blank, but there is a miraculous feeling of the words being there, written in invisible ink and clamoring to become visible."
-Vladimir Nabakov

You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, "I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along." You must do the thing you think you cannot do.
-Eleanor Roosevelt
I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish that He didn't trust me so much.
-Mother Theresa
My all time fav quote is:
Life is not measured by the breaths we take; but by the moments that take our breath away.
*Author Unknown
"Any concern too small to be turned into a prayer is too small to be made into a burden."
Corrie ten Boom
Love those quotes....and I totally forgot about Motivate Monday....that's ok, with the craziness of getting to read, I am not to motivational. I will be posting our Jesse Tree handmade ornaments though.
I have many quotes that I love....but scripture is alive for me....
I have some very special verses hidden in my heart...I cling to them.
"Create in me a pure heart O God, and renew a right spirit within me". Ps. 51:10
"For God has not given me a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power and of love and of a sound mind".
2 Tim. 1:7
"If you can't be a good example, you'll just have to be a horrible warning." (Katherine Hays? or someone?)
"Live, live, live. Life is a banquet and some poor fools are starving to death." Auntie Mame.
Although my favorite quote is from anyone famous, it is one that I have carried with me since I was a child. Whenever I would go somewhere, my Dad would say,"Remember who you are." What he was teaching me was that I was going out representing our family and who I was and what I stood for. I didn't become a Christian until I was 20 and now that quote has even more significance to me knowing who I am in Christ. There are many times, no matter where I am or what I'm doing that I have to "remember who I am".
I now say it to my children. Kind of drives them crazy - it did me too! I'm really thankful for all the times I heard it though.
Love those journals:)
I really don't have any quotes in my head right now. Here is one from Napoleon Dynomite,"My lips hurt real bad".
That cracks me up!!Lol!!!Sorry,I haven't had my morning coffee yet.
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced.
Live your life so that when you die,
the world cries and you rejoice.
Thank you!
Oh, hard decisions!
"There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle."
Albert Einstein
I have this on my desk, but I am not sure I'd label it inspirational: "A man can fail many times, but he isn't a failure until he begins to blame somebody else" - JFK
or what about ...
"Given a wand and a tiara, I am fairly certain I could save the world" ... unknown! ;-)
Fun stuff!
I don't have many quotes that I really remember, but here are a couple of good ones:
“I have been driven many times to my knees by the overwhelming conviction that I had no where else to go. My own wisdom, and that of all about me, seemed insufficient for the day. ”
- Abraham Lincoln
And of course, a chocolate one:
"I could stop eating chocolate but I'm not a quitter."
Thanks for a lovely giveaway!
Oh what a wonderful treasure a new journal would be. My favorite quote is "we were born with wings. Why prefer to crawl through life?"
My now-husband saw when I had written that quote and immediately contacted me four years ago. He was a pilot, and I'd won him over with those words!
Thank you.
Katie
Right now, I kind of like this one:
"This year, or this month, or, more likely, this very day, we have failed to practise ourselves the kind of behaviour we expect from other people."
--The Case for Christianity ~ C.S. Lewis
I read "The Shack" by William Young shortly after losing my twin daughters.
This is a quote from the book..."Oh child, don't ever discount the wonder of your tears. They can be healing waters and a stream of joy. Sometimes they are the best words the heart can speak."
This is a quote that has stuck in my mind as soon as I read it. I have in posted on my home.
Lord, I am willing
To receive what You give,
To lack what You withhold,
To relinquish what You take,
To suffer what You inflict,
To be what you require.
-from Jerry Bridges' Transforming Grace book
I'm tagging you for a Christmas inspired tag! Can't wait to hear you answers! Visit my blog.

You sit still and trust the engineer.

Oh man there are so many!
Here is just one of my faves from Charlotte Mason (otherwise I'd be here all day!)

"The early bird gets the worm"
Not sure who said this, but since I have been getting up early to meet with the Lord, I feel like I am the bird that got the worm. =)
Wow - GORGEOUS journals!
My favorite quote is this Scripture:
2 Timothy 1:7 - For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
here's one of my favorite quotes, i have so many that it's hard to chose just one....
to the world you may just be one person, but to one person you may just be the world.

If we only have the will to walk, then God is pleased with our stumbles.
