We all have one. The "junk" drawer that everything random goes into. Mine is actually a cabinet in my kitchen (okay, I have a cabinet and a drawer!).
It's the drawer you go to when you are looking for batteries, light bulbs, keys, and other things you need to find but don't know where else to look. It's the place that many have newspaper clippings, photos, recipes, and screws. Wouldn't it be nice to have that drawer cleaned out and organized?
Today is the day to do it.
Let's go:
- Dump out the drawer.
- Throw away everything you don't use or realistically won't use.
- Sort - What doesn't belong in there? What do you want to stay?
- Get or make a drawer sorter and put things in it in an organized fashion.
- Dance a happy dance that it's done!

Can you start over with day one? lol. I want to join in the cleaning frenzy but it looks like you're almost done. I bet if you ask anyone that started at the beginning that what ever it was they did first is probably a mess again anyway ha ha! What are you doing next like this?
Blessings,
Kim
Off to do the junk drawer. I was in there yesterday, and was thinking oh my what a mess! Have a great weekend!
If only I had just a drawer. Sadly, we have a ROOM that is the epitome of a junk drawer. I've been working on it ever since we moved, and have made some progress, but it's coming along rather slowly. I think shelving and some organization containers would be helpful. And a healthy measure of motivation!
No no no - not the junk drawer, please!! Actually, I'm not sure I can even open the junk drawer, so bad as I hate to, maybe I'll give it a try. Unfortunately, my junk drawer has overflowed into the adjoining cabinet!
Are you going to have a junk cabinet cleaning day?!! Ha - maybe I'll be on vacation for that one!
Oh, good. I've been itching to get at the junk drawer.
In answer to your question to me yesterday, red meat, spinach, nuts. Just check with your caregiver when you have bloodwork done. :)
Correction: We don't all have one. Some of us have many! Where to start? Oh golly!
Its my birthday so I will skip todays challenge til next week. but I tackle the junk drawer a couple itmes a year. Its crazy how the stuff multiplies.
ditto on the junk "ROOM". my kitchen is so small that there aren't enough drawers for a junk drawer, but the 4th bedroom (which is supposed to be the guest/craft/music room) will be fine one day and a disaster the next! (usually cause that's where we stash stuff when company is coming) right now it's mid-disaster and now i will go and finish it!!!!
Oh the dreaded junk drawer! LOL Luckily, I have a husband who cleans out the junk drawer, lol. It is a rather small drawer in the kitchen and he just cleaned it out the other day.
Soooo, I guess I can just put my feet on the couch and eat bon-bons today, LOLOL.
Just kidding, I do have another secret one in my dresser, ugh, ok, I'll go look in there...

Oh...we just had junk drawer mayhem. My son was starting drivers ed and we need his SS card. Yikes, do you know what one does when looking for a card you haven't seen in 10 years. We are still digging out, but in the end it will be SO worth it. Off to finish 2 junk drawers and the junk cabinet.:)
i have a drawer, and a cupboard, and a couple of closets, lol! looks like a garage sale is somewhere in my future!
My hubby did the nicest thing last summer. I was out of town with the kids, and he was puttering around one day. Pulled out the "junk drawer," and tons of junk spilled out! He made the "executive decision" to clean out the drawer. It has gotten a tad more jammed since then, but never as bad as it once was. He also cleaned out the shelves where we stack the Tupperware, and everything was in order when we got back~
how funny, just read your blog and this is what I did today. nothing better than a clean junk drawer.
I have been avoiding this one for a couple of days, but this morning before church I decided to just get it done! Ah, the feeling of having accomplished something! However...All the joy I would have had from getting the one drawer I just did was snuffed out by the realization that I have another one right in front of my in the desk my computer sits on! Oh, well, I guess after church or tomorrow will be just as good a time as any!
Oh My Goodness! I just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS! I just read that there will be another baby coming! That is so exciting! Take care of yourself!
