My First Ever Post - "Our Official Debut"

Good morning! We are officially a "go!" As a young (ahem) woman and stay-at-mom with two little ones, I often find myself in desperate need of friendship, help, encouragement, motivation, and a brain! Do you ever feel like this?

After stumbling downstairs in the dark before the sun rises (goal), trying not to wake the kiddos, I want to pour myself a strong, smooth cup of coffee (which by the way is more than a drink to me, it’s an experience!), curl up, and with a couple of clicks on the mouse, find the above "needs" to help me begin and get through my day. Don’t get me wrong, my ultimate source of life must come from my "corner in the couch" time with Jesus first thing. He gives me the true rest and refreshment I need to survive on a daily basis. After that however, I want to sit down and read the news, find encouragement, practical, "life giving" tips to bring value to my family and home, creative things to do with my toddler, poetry, art, articles that teach and inspire, date ideas, "how-to’s", and a community of women who understand the ups, downs, and sometimes crazy loops of being a wife and mom. Thus, "Like a warm cup of coffee" was born (or, brewed I should say). It is my genuine desire that this place will be a blessing to you, as well as an outlet. So, grab your cup of joe and let’s journey together!

Well, there you have it, my first post! Now onto...

Super Awesome Businesses of the Day

Who likes cookies? Who likes fortune cookies? Big fortune cookies - SUMO COOKIES!!!
"Ever since she was little, Janice has loved baking. That passion led her to, pardon the pun, her "big idea." A fortune cookie that redefined fortune cookies. One that looked different and tasted even better with a buttery, homemade flavor. After months of adding a pinch of this and a dash of that, she had perfected the recipe. In February of 2003, Sumo Enormous Gourmet Fortune Cookies fired up its ovens. Today, SUMO cookies are baked fresh and topped with delicious ingredients for holiday gifts, corporate functions, baby announcements, birthdays, weddings and more."

See regular fortune cookie...see SUMO cookie...

I know! How cool is that?! More cool: you get to customize the fortune!

I had to laugh at my first post because it was a very serious devotional and I just won funniest blog last week. It's amazing how things can change isn't it. I didn't even introduce myself first, I just jumped right in! LOL.
Love you girlfriend.
Hugs.

Okay - it's Monday morning. I've only had enough time/energy to make a cup of instant coffee, and now I have to decide which SUMO cookie is my favorite? =) They look waaaay delectable - the S'mores or the Seven Layer SUMO would be my choice. Okay - maybe I'd just get both. Either way, I have to go get some real coffee now...

LOL - I have that Sesame Street song in my head: A cookie for you; a cookie for me by Cookie Monster. I think the stuffed Sumo cookies are absolutley fun and unique for any party.

Those cookies look amazing! And I may not have a little one yet, but we're hoping it will be soon...so if I won that it wouldn't be too bad either! :)

Those fortune cookies look amazing! I have always loved them and those are to die for! I wonder, do they include extra special fortunes? ;)

Liz said...

Oh how I love faith baby... My favorite is Mommy's answered prayers. Love it!

Happy Blogaversary!

Those cookies are amazing! I wonder how they get them that big? I think the turtle Sumo looks pretty good, but I'm sure my husband & sons would think the Sprinkled Sumo looks the best (since they love all things sprinkled!).

And I love Faith Baby. I'd never heard of that before, and will have to head over there again since I have lots of friends who are having babies these days. I think my favorite is the "Be patient. God's not done with me yet" toddler tee...my 13 month old is definitely getting to that stage!

I just love Faith Baby...what a sweet concept!!!

I will jump in on this meme someday...right now, I'm struggling to motivate myself to keep on keeping on with my giant belly in the way, LOL! :) That may not be very motivating to others...

Bobbi said...

I think my favorite sumo is the snickers...although I really like the bride...but seeing as I've already done that...maybe for an anniversary. AND I love Faith Baby...I think my fave is "Be patient God's not finished with me yet." Okay gotta go do my mmm post!

I love those sumo fortune cookies - adorable! They look scrumptious! Love to try the chocolate ones with nuts. Yummy!

The snickers Sumo looks yummy! mmmmm....

I would LOVE the list plan-it thingy. I'm a list-aholic! :)

BTW, I keep getting a warning when I'm visiting your blog... some sort of computer gibberish and the word "termination" (sorry I can't be more specific than that! lol). And then I click ok, and then your blog closes and it goes to the "Internet Explorer cannot display this page" super annoying page.

Just wanted to let you know. :)

Oh my - those cookies look so good! I think the Southern Pecan Turtle would be my favorite. And I could use some of those planner lists to get more organized. Faith Baby looks adorable - I like the "not spoiled, blessed" - that would be a cute gift!

Havin' fun at your party!! And it's not over - yay! :)

Faith baby's stuff is wonderful! I especially love the protected by angels onsie. Isn't that the truth? All our little ones have the angels watching out for them- nice to have clothing that re-affirms that!

HEY! I'm baaack!

First, I can honestly say that it has been a long time since looking at something online has made me want to drool on the keyboard. That S'mores SUMO cookie did it for me. Oh. My. Word.

And those Faith Baby onesies. I wish, wish, WISH I had one when Kiddo came along. "Mommy's answered prayers" would have been perfect.

And I HOPE I win the List Planit! I just saw "room by room purge" and KNEW I needed it!

AND, last but not least, I linked up with technicaly my second post, but since my first one consisted exactly of, "Okay, Kat, you asked for it, you got it. Oh, help us all." I figured my second one was a better choice. : )

Now, did I miss anything?

Oh, and the craft fair was so-so...I'll post about it soon.

Melissa Joy said...

Oh my gosh, I love this stuff. The Faith Baby website is great, thanks for sharing it. I love the "Mommy's Answered Prayers" shirt. I hope I need one of those soon!! :) And as for the Sumo cookie... whoa. That Seven Layer Sumo totally got my mouth watering.
Loving the blogaversary!
