Many of you seem interested in the whole "I bit my husbands neck" thing, so I suppose I shall elaborate for your, um, edification.
I really should have hubby do this, but I think he's at the doctors having his rabies shot...
One of you asked how I could have been in the position to bite my husbands neck. It was quite simple, actually, because I had him in a head lock. I was lying on my side and he was standing next to me hunched over. My sweet little face was burrowed in his neck when one of those darn contractions came mixed with trying to push out baby. Well, there was his neck, ripe for the taking. Now mind you, I did not do this on purpose really, I was very out of it because of the pain. I think I also bit his arm. He told me later that it almost made him mad that I bit him, but he realized he better not say anything considering the circumstances.
I told him that was probably a good idea.
Or I would have bitten him again. ;)

This is actually really a great story to share. I can understand the biting and your husband to only be so patient as to realize what you are experiencing. What a great guy you have there. When I was giving birth to lindsey I took hold of Patrick's neck and shirt and squeezed the air out of him and heard in response "ouch"... Well when your giving birth and someone else say's ouch that will just throw you over the edge. We have many giggles about that to this day. Bless your family. jaime
I, too, had my husband in a "head-lock" during labor. While, I didn't bite him, I put lots of little holes into his neck and shoulders from my nails! Congratulations on a beautiful little girl!
LOL, That is so funny. I bit my husband on the back one time when he was sleeping. I don't even remember doing it because I was asleep myself! LOL. Talk about sleeping with one eye open! Ha! Ha! Ha!
Love you my friend.

Oh, ya'll are so funny. I can say that I've never bitten my husband.....but maybe felt like it. Childbirth is not considered a place for normal behavior...."what happens in the l/d, stays in the l/d!!! ha.

Oh goodness I needed a laugh this morning and that was funny. I am sure your husband didn't think so! I had c-sections so my husband wouldn't know much about that kind of pain.

Congrats Sarah!! I finally figured out how to post a comment. I was a bit confused on the whole subscribe and bookmark thing in order to comment. Anywho, your baby is adorable. Many blessings to you and your growing family.
Oh, the neck story is hilarious. It is amazing what you are capable of when you are in pain....isn't it?
LOL, you are a riot! I can understand, that pain is like no other!
Ha! that's great. i'm a "HELP ME" screamer myself. :) i think my husband just knows to stay back as far as possible to avoid personal injury! :)
Congratulations on your precious little bundle of joy! I look forward to seeing more pictures as she grows in grace.
In Him,
Beth
What a story!!! Love it!
Too funny! But it makes perfect sense to me :o) And yes, he's probably right, it would not have been good to say anything at that moment!
Thanks for the laugh!
Hope your new little one is doing well!
It's amazing the things us women do while in labor. I am sure that story will go down in the archives of your family history and soon become a legend.
Enjoy that precious girl!!! What a sweetie.
Now you'll always have that great story! I never bit my hubby, but during labor I squeezed his hand so hard that he wasn't sure he'd be able to use it again! He said it hurt really bad, but didn't want to say anything - we have wise hubbies - LOL!
I was considering having #3 without drugs, which I'm assuming you did, but now I'm even more scared. My husband's afraid of the screaming in pain, but he SHOULD be afraid of being bitten, too! :)
Ha! That's a wonderful story, and I am so glad you shared it!! What a great thing to tell your daughter one day, lol.
Praying for ya'll today!
i think it's more common than some of your readers think...i, too, neck-bit my husband in a rage of contractions! I understood the "how were you in range of his neck during labor" question. What I don't understand is why this is our instinct...but it was pure instinct kicking in, for me at least.

Well, since there wasn't a bullet or leather strap available for biting, you just did the next best thing. :D Glad that he didn't tell you he was mad. Hahah!
When I first read that in your last post, I started laughing. Though it wasn't funny at the time!
God Bless,
Lauren Ann
snicker...snicker...GIGGLE....BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Sorry...I just had to let that out. That is a great story!
Oh no! That's actually pretty funny. What a story to tell your new baby someday.
Congrats on the beautiful little girl.
When I gave birth to my first baby I squeezed my husband's hand so hard I think his circulation was cut off!! LOL. :) It sure wasn't funny then. You must have been in a lot of pain to bite your hubby!
That is HILARIOUS!
CONGRATULATIONS on the new addition.
THAT IS HYSTERICAL!
