Pursuing Wisdom - Our Life In Christ

If you are just joining the series, start here.

"...Christ himself, in whom all are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." Colossians 2:3

The ultimate source of wisdom is Jesus Christ. We cannot, and will not have godly wisdom if we do not have Christ. Wisdom is from God, and found in Him. Through His gracious mercy, believers are able to partake in the wisdom of God because of Jesus.

But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption." 1 Corinthians 1:30

"Christ is the Person behind the wisdom principles, and we have fellowship with that Person. In Him we have more than creation or salvation principles, we have fellowship with the mind and the Spirit of the Person of God who is all-wise (1 Corinthians 2:8-16)." Barbara Mouser, Five Aspects

"Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God...for who has known the mind of the LORD, that he will instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ." 1 Corinthians 2:12,16

"We are foolishness and He is made wisdom to us...the treasures of wisdom are hidden not from us, but for us, in Christ. We must spend upon the stock which is laid up for us in him, and draw from the treasures which are hidden in him." Matthew Henry

We have access to the mind of Christ! we can tap into His wisdom by seeking Him out and spending time with Him. All we have to do is ask, and then "draw from the treasures which are hidden in him" for us, believers. Wow! Amazing.

I hope you have enjoyed learning about wisdom with me! I pray you will seek her out, but even more so, I pray you will seek Him out, the source of all pure wisdom.

I'd like to end this series with a poem:

Wisdom and Folly

I was a guest in Folly's house,

with others, I paid board

until I walked with Wisdom and

she led me to the Lord.

Old Folly begged me not to leave

though guests come night ad day.

With honey dripping from her lips,

"You'll come back!" she'd say.

Now Wisdom's home is on a rock

with seven pillars strong.

Each day I come to dine with her.

She teaches right from wrong.

We stroll throughout her gardens

the fragrance is so sweet.

She offers me great counsel

as I sit beside her feet.

At night I leave her mansion with

my eyes fixed straight ahead.

I swiftly pass by Folly's home

the house of living dead.

I glance back at the narrow path

and through the darkness see,

a silhouette of Wisdom

she's watching over me.

By Carla Muir

"Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you." Proverbs 4:6
