Who is first in my life? I am. I put myself first all too often. Selfishness, that’s its name.
Why don’t I take the time to make healthy lunches? Selfishness.
Why don’t I make sure that my kids teeth are brushed twice a day, everyday? Selfishness.
Why don’t I perform my tasks as a homemaker diligently? Selfishness.
Why don’t I give my husband the respect I should? Selfishness.
Why do I spend more time on my own pursuits than in teaching and discipling my children? Selfishness.
I could go on and on...
The point is, I am not giving up my rights. I am clinging to myself, instead of dying to myself.
I must release my "rights" to Him, everyday. My heart is His; my life is His.
Thank God for His grace.
"Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature
God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature
of a servant..." Philippians 2: 5-7

This is my issue, also. Thanks for the reminder.
I'm so thankful I can across this post. I do a lot for people, but this reminded me of things that I not only could but SHOULD do, but don't out of selfishness.
