What Do You Think - Should I Change My Blog's Name?

*Update*
Decision made - name staying! You will soon be able to find me at www.likeawarmcupofcoffee.com. It is not ready yet though, so continue to join me here for just a bit longer! :)

Here's the deal, I LOVE my blog name, but it doesn't say anything about what my blog is about - it is more the feeling you get when you visit. I will be switching to a .com very soon, so now is the time to make a decision. Authentic Godliness is available, and it perfectly describes my purpose with this blog. The other reason for a possible change is to make the .com easier to remember. Whenever I tell people I have a blog and then tell them the name, they have to repeat it a couple of times to get it...I think the "like" is what trips them up. Authentic Godliness is super easy to remember.

What do you think?

I put a poll on the right hand sidebar for you to vote in. I want your thoughts because you are the readers! Feel free to leave any comments about this as well! Thank you!

I'm a fairly new reader, but I think I have an emotional attachment to your current name. I'd vote not to change it. Is the dot come for your current name available?

I like the name you have, and I think many people have a connection with it now. It's so warm and comforting. Authentic Godliness is nice but it doesn't have that cozy feel. I think that it sounds more academic.

Hi Brianna, yes, I have the rights to the likeawarmcupofcoffee.com

Thanks for your thoughts! :) It is such a tough decision!

Thanks Anna! I do like the "warmness" of it!

It's a tough decision because your reasons for doing it are good. But, those who have come by your blog even once and want to find you again will have trouble if you change it.

I think polling the reader's is a great idea, and I know I'm not being any help by riding the fence! Ha ha!

I'm a new follower. To me, "Authentic Godliness" puts a huge responsibility on you to BE that. I feel like followers would place expectations on you that you might not want, based on their definitions of those two words. I like what you have. And being a fellow coffee obsessor, I just am drawn to it as is.

I vote not to change it. I love to sit down in the mornings with a cup of coffee and spend time with God and your title invokes that feeling of spending time with God.

Your name is what drew me in the first place. I think it reflects the tone and feel of your site. I feel better and more relaxed after "sitting down with you".

Oooh I can't wait to see your new "place"!

I'm glad you're keeping the original name.

I've had the same thoughts about "A Bowl of Moss & Pebbles". Do I write about moss much? Nah, but it feels right.

May be I should change mine to "Like a Bowl of Moss and Pebbles." Eh?

;)

Breezy, haha - I definitely think you should go with Like a bowl of moss and pebbles! :)

I know you have already made your decision, but I completely agree...you should definitely keep the name!! I am a new reader too, and when I first saw the name it was so warm and cozy sounding that it made me want to read it. Then when I read your content, I wanted to keep coming back. The name perfectly describes your blog, whether it explains the content or not!!

I'm new too and I like the name...I voted, but looks like my vote went in after you decided to keep the name the same...

Gotta go catch up on how to Reclaim my life...

Well, now I know I was destined to find you here...

I was just reading some of your archives and my baby girl's name is Caroline too! Great taste we have! And cute little girls, if I don't say so myself!

It was the name that kept me coming back too. I'm reading Nicole Johnson's "fresh brewed life" and your blog reminded me of that book. I'm glad you're keeping it.

I'm TOTALLY attached to your blog name.
A) it's very inviting and welcoming.
B) I think it's appealing to anyone from anywhere and people will stay to read it whether they know the Lord or not.
C) Authentic Godliness can be used in your "motto" or as part of your mission statement!

I think I agree with the others- your current name draws people in. I also think if you keep your name then you would get those who may not be coming for the "God" part of it, but for the "coffee" part- it's like a ministry to the lost who just happened upon your site because they like coffee. I hope you get what I mean- sometimes I'm not good with explaining what I mean over a computer.

I really like the name of your blog, but what matters is whether or not YOU are happy with it!

I think you should keep your current name. It just feels like a warm cup of coffee! Inviting and friendly!

Decision is already made, but I love your current name and I think all the commenters have already said it all so well! Maybe you can find a way to use authentic godliness in a tag line!

Have a beautiful weekend!

So glad you are keeping your name! Coffee is comforting to me...so is your blog. I can come here and just relax and learn something new or helpful.

Have a great Memorial Day Weekend!
