My husband has programmed everyone around him not to use the "f" word - fair. Too many people whine about life and circumstances not being "fair". According to my husband, there is no such thing as fair - and he will explain to people why! I'd share it now, but I can't communicate it quite like he can. My daughter even has her teachers not saying it. I like this definition. I'll share it with my husband.
I declared the un-F word when I lost my third baby earlier this week. My mother gently reminded my husband and me that God works in justice and accomplishing His glory... not in living within the limits of what we might *selfishly* claim as fair. Sigh. And so I pray for God to be glorified in all things. And for His light to illumine my darkness today.

I have a hard time with that one. Still learning.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and offering advice. Stop by anytime!
Blessings!
When we used to say, "it's not fair," my mom would say "it wasn't fair that Jesus had to die on the cross either."
It wasn't, but thank God he did!
How true...
Amen!!!
I need to let my kids know that quote!
So true! Thank you. :)
I am totally reading Peace Like A River right now! That is a great quote.

reminds me of my favorite hymn by Ann Steel
Father, whate’er of earthly bliss
Thy sovereign will denies,
Accepted at Thy throne, let this
My humble prayer, arise:
Give me a calm and thankful heart,
From every murmur free;
The blessing of Thy grace impart,
And make me live to Thee.
Let the sweet hope that Thou art mine
My life and death attend,
Thy presence through my journey shine,
And crown my journey’s end.
