Super Yummy Recipe - No Bake Cookies!

Thanks to Lisa over at Stop and Smell the Chocolates for hosting a "Would You Like Chocolate With That?" link up.

I have to give my super sweet, wonderful Aunt Vikki credit for this one! She brings me a batch of these delightful cookies almost every time she comes visiting, and let me tell you, she is one No Bake Cookie extraordinaire! So, I would like to pass along this healthy (hey, it has oats in it!) chocolate, easy, amazingly delicious cookie recipe on to you. Enjoy!

First things first - the ingredient list:

1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. cocoa
1/4 c. margerine
1/2 c. milk
3/4 c. peanut butter (creamy)
1 tsp. vanilla
3 1/2 -4 c. oats

Okay, here we go...

1. Bring the sugar, cocoa, margarine and milk to a boil. Stir continually and boil for about four minutes (don't boil too much longer or you will end up with a bunch of crumbs when all is said and done!)
2. Remove from heat and immediately add the peanut butter.
3. While mixing, add the vanilla, then add the oats one cup at a time.
4. Put spoonfuls on long sheets of wax paper (you can dip your spoon in water between each scoop to help). Let them sit for a couple of hours until they harden (or you can put them in the fridge for faster "hardening" time.
Eat up! And remember, they're healthy, really, they are! ;)

Ahhh, reminds me of elementary school. These no bake cookies are the best!

Yum - we make these, too! In fact, I might need to make up a batch for the weekend. I use a pampered chef cookie scoop to drop them on the wax paper - works pretty well.

I have a recipe for a peanut butter version, as well.

Thank you for linking up! Good recipe to share - if anybody doesn't have it - they need it! :)

I made a batch last weekend. Here's a tip: use butter NOT margarine. Not that I have. I'm just saying...it may be that the margarine doesn't form as well as butter and your cookies may never harden. Not that I'd know. But I've heard...

Yummy, I love these cookies. I'm new to your blog, but I like what I see.

These are my husband's absolute FAVORITE! I hate them. His Mom makes them for him every time she visits. I think when was a child I ate so many that I burned myself out on them and now I just can't eat them.

Hi Sarah Mae,
Made these cookies when I saw the recipe... but... my-oh-my - they are SOOO rich!
I think that I made them too big and so found it hard to make it through eating a whole one.
At least I used up all the oats i've had sitting in the cupboard for months.
Perhaps if I'd put more oats in to lessen the intensity of chocolate/peanut butter and made them smaller.
Great recipe though - anything that requires no baking is the sort of recipe for me!

Thank you for posting this recipe and reminding me of these cookies. I haven't made them in years and my granddaughter is about to turn 1. I'll bet it won't be too much longer and I'll be making these with her, just like I made them with my kids.

They aren't exactly unhealthy, and I can think of a few ways to take them up a notch, involving splenda, Dark Coco, skim milk, Smart Balance butter blend (www.smartbalance.com). I'll let you know how it turns out.

I'm glad you linked these up again - so good! And isn't it funny that so far, all the recipes today have peanut butter and chocolate?

We love no bakes! We tease my husband because he once made them and forgot the milk. It turned out just crumbs, but the kids ate it anyway!
