The other day I felt like such a failure.
I was comparing myself with others, and was in a general "I stink" rut. Debbie has some good thoughts about comparing yourself with others here, but I'd also like to share something I came across recently: (It's from the Wall Street Journal)
How Important Are You?
More than you think.
A rooster
minus a hen
equals
no baby chicks.
Kellogg minus
a farmer
equals
no corn flakes.
If the nail
factory closes
what good is the
hammer factory?
Paderewski's
genius wouldn't have
amounted to much
if the
piano tuner
hadn't shown up.
A cracker maker
will do better
if there's a
cheese maker.
The most skillful
surgeon needs
the ambulance driver
who delivers the
patient.
Just as Rodgers
needed Hammerstein
you need someone
and someone
needs you.

I love the "you need someone and someone needs you." Like your blog!
Thanks for stopping by mine!
Gosh if I didn't post...where would the comments go!?
:)
Thanks for reminding me to be me and not anyone else.
Nice one! It's very hard not to compare ourselves with others. I do it all the time! But God created me the way I am for a reason and to bring Him glory. And it's good to remember that somebody that's good at one thing is weak at another - we just don't always see it. He has given each of us different gifts and talents. :)
Nice thought at the end of the day...
I love that! And thanks for the shout out and for coming to my party yesterday!
You are so right. There is always someone else to compare ourselves to. I do it too. I wish I were as Godly as so-and-so or as organized as so-and-so etc. etc.
I'm having to remind myself just today that God made me who I am and has a purpose for me.
I just found your blog and am already loving it. You are so encouraging in a world that needs some encouragement.
Blessings,
Trixi
Love your blog ... and since I could never start my day without a cup of coffee you might add to your list
ground coffee without water (and creamer, and splenda) = yuck!
